Where We Offer Pool Service in Collin County
Pick your town below for the local details. Each town page covers its neighborhoods, its water and the questions we hear most there. Not sure your street is on a route? The ZIP codes listed with the map above are a quick check, or you can just call us.
McKinney, Our Home Base
This is where we started, and we’ve worked on local pools here for more than ten years. Our routes run from Stonebridge Ranch and Craig Ranch out to Tucker Hill and Trinity Falls. Plans, repairs and new equipment for McKinney homes are all on our pool service in McKinney page.
Frisco, TX
Frisco counted 200,509 residents in 2020. Its pools range from Starwood, built out between 1996 and 2008, to newer homes in Phillips Creek Ranch and Fields. Older equipment pads often need upgrades, while newer pools need steady chemistry from day one. The details are on our pool service in Frisco, TX page.
Allen, TX
Allen’s water report lists hardness from 96 to 200 ppm and pH as high as 8.8, so scale is a common sight on heaters and salt cells. The city also treats chlorinated backwash and pool draining as illicit discharges. We cover Twin Creeks, Watters Crossing, Suncreek and more. Read about pool service in Allen, TX.
Prosper, TX
Many Prosper backyards pair the pool with a spa, a waterfall or both. All that splashing pushes pH up, and the town’s water report shows pH reaching 8.9 at the plant. We look after pools in Windsong Ranch, Star Trail, Gentle Creek and Whispering Farms. There’s more on our pool service in Prosper, TX page.
Fairview, TX
Fairview homes sit on larger, wooded lots, so leaves and acorns end up in the water. Its tap water is lake water from Lavon Lake and Bois d’Arc Lake, not well water. The town also asks owners to dechlorinate to 0.1 ppm before draining. We serve Heritage Ranch, Oakwood Estates and Sloan Creek Estates. See pool service in Fairview, TX.
Melissa, TX
Melissa grew from 13,901 people in 2020 to about 29,969 in 2025, and lots of those new homes came with new pools. New plaster cures mostly over its first four weeks, so start-up care matters there. Neighborhoods include Liberty, Legacy Ranch and Milrany Ranch. Learn more about pool service in Melissa, TX.
What Every Collin County Pool Deals With
The county keeps growing fast. It counted 1,064,465 people in the 2020 census and about 1,297,179 by mid-2025, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. More homes mean more pools, and they all share the same weather and the same water. Wherever you live in our area, these four things shape how your pool behaves.
One Water Supply, Treated With Chloramines
All six towns get their tap water from the North Texas Municipal Water District. McKinney, Frisco and Allen are member cities, and Prosper, Fairview and Melissa buy from the district as customers. For most of the year, that water carries chloramines. On a pool test they show up as combined chlorine, and combined chlorine is a weak sanitizer. Every top-off adds a little, so we test each week and bring combined chlorine back toward zero.
Triple-Digit Summers Burn Off Chlorine
On average, DFW sees its first 100-degree day near July 1 and its last near August 27, going by National Weather Service records. In 2011 there were 71 of them. Sunlight can destroy half the chlorine in a pool in under an hour. Cyanuric acid, the stabilizer, keeps chlorine around three to ten times as long when it sits at 30 to 50 ppm. Even so, algae can take over a clear pool within a day once chlorine runs low. That’s why we keep free chlorine in the 2 to 4 ppm range all summer. You can check the heat numbers on the National Weather Service site.
Evaporation Leaves Scale Behind
Heat and wind pull a lot of water out of a pool. Evaporation takes only pure water, so calcium and other minerals stay behind and build up with every top-off. If pH, alkalinity and calcium aren’t kept in balance, scale forms on pool walls, in filters, in heaters and on salt-cell plates. To prevent it, we keep pH at 7.4 to 7.6 and calcium hardness between 200 and 400 ppm.
Storms in Spring, Freezes in Winter
From March to May, storms and gusty south wind blow leaves, pollen and dust into the water. Heavy rain also dilutes it, which can drop chlorine, pH, alkalinity and calcium, so we watch those numbers closely on the next visit. Winters are mostly mild. Still, a freeze like February 2021’s can crack pumps and pipes. Running the pump through freezing nights is the standard advice, and automation with freeze protection does it for you.
What We Offer Across Collin County
You get the same services in every town we cover, from weekly care to new equipment. Each part below links to the page with the full details.
Weekly Plans
Full Service handles water testing and balancing plus skimming, brushing and vacuuming, and it empties both baskets and checks the equipment. Chemical-Only covers the water chemistry, the skimmer basket and the equipment check, and you handle the rest. Either way, your filter gets cleaned twice a year and you get a report after every stop. Compare them on our weekly pool service page.
Repairs When Something Breaks
When a pump hums, a heater won’t light or a filter cracks, we find the problem and price the fix before any work starts. Most repairs get done the same day or the next, depending on the time of year. We work on Hayward, Pentair, Jandy and Zodiac equipment, plus Raypak heaters. Start with our pool repairs page.
New Equipment
We look over the whole equipment pad before any install, so the new pump, heater, filter or light fits your pool. Pool electrical work in Texas needs a TDLR license, and we hold one. After the install, we test everything and walk you through it. See our pool equipment installation options.
Algae Cleanups, Salt Cells and Automation
Our green to clean service treats the water, brushes the pool, cleans the filter and vacuums until it’s swimmable. Many pools clear in 24 to 72 hours without draining. We also clean and repair salt systems, install and fix pool automation and handle sand changes. Find it all under specialty services.
How Much Pool Service Costs in Collin County
Plan prices start at the same place in every town we cover: $189 a month for Full Service and $100 a month for Chemical-Only. If your pool is on the large side or shares equipment with a spa, we price it once we’ve seen it. There’s no long-term contract on either plan. Repairs and new equipment are quoted separately, and you approve the price before we begin.

Pool Care Across Collin County
In our six towns, the North Texas Municipal Water District supplies it from lakes including Lavon Lake and Bois d'Arc Lake. Two things matter for a pool: it carries chloramines, which test as combined chlorine, and its minerals can leave scale as water evaporates.
It's routine upkeep. For about 28 days each spring, usually from late February into early April, the North Texas Municipal Water District stops adding ammonia and disinfects with free chlorine alone. Top-off water carries free chlorine during that stretch, and your pool still needs its weekly test.
Check first, because each city sets its own rules. Allen treats chlorinated backwash and pool draining as illicit discharges. Fairview asks owners to dechlorinate to 0.1 ppm before draining. Most green pools don't need draining anyway, since green to clean clears them in place.
Aim for free chlorine of 2 to 4 ppm, pH of 7.4 to 7.6, stabilizer of 30 to 50 ppm and calcium hardness of 200 to 400 ppm. Summer heat pushes them around, so Sparkling Clear checks and adjusts them every week.
After its start-up. A new plaster finish cures mostly during its first 28 days, and that month needs extra care. Our start-up service is a series of visits to balance the water, brush the surface and clean the filter, plus a care guide. A weekly plan takes over from there.
