The 4th of July is a time for celebration. Summer is in its full swing, and your pool is the perfect place for a party. There’s family, plenty of food and drinks, and lots of fun to make for a great party. Start preparing your pool for the party a few days ahead so you won’t have to worry about missing out on anything on the day of the party. Make sure you have enough flotation devices and food for everyone invited.
Come up with a Patriotic Theme
Every party needs a theme. Since it’s the 4th of July, you should pick something patriotic. Hanging a few flags and lightning fireworks wouldn’t be such a bad idea to celebrate the birth of our great nation and all of the freedom we enjoy. Decorate your home with red, white, and blue banners. Throw in some delicious red, white, and blue foods too. Look for music and decorations that blend in with the theme as well. Whether you choose a simple theme or one that is more elaborate, make it memorable!
Summer Foods
Summer parties call for summer foods. Hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, and a hearty helping of homemade potato salad should be readily available. Throw in a few apple pies, snow cones, and ice cream for good measure. Friends and family of all ages will enjoy a summer picnic by the side of the pool. Bring in a few fresh summer fruits and maybe a cake or two.
Offer a Toast to Independence
Raise a toast to our country’s independence. Soft drinks for the kids and adult beverages for your friends and family are a great way to celebrate. Share a few drinks by the pool and make a few new summer memories. No celebration is complete without raising a toast to the freedom we enjoy and the brave men and women who worked hard to build this country.
Turn up the Tunes!
No party is complete without a rocking playlist. Start creating your playlist a few days before your party. Make sure you have enough music that could play for at least two or three hours. Throw in a few extra songs and be willing to take some requests from your guests. Turn up the sound system and invite your neighbors to drop by.
Stay Safe Always!
With all of the fun and excitement, don’t forget to be as safe as possible. Have life jackets for the little ones and flotation devices or pool noodles for the adults. Keep items away from the pool’s edge and try to keep people from running near the water. Always have a first aid kit on hand in case someone receives a slight injury.
